Alberta, So Much to Discover

Having traveled a large part of Canada, I have to say one of my favourite provinces is Alberta. Each province in Canada is truly unique, but Alberta always takes my breath away. As I drive down Highway 1 going towards Calgary from Chestermere, I have to catch my breath. I see the outline of the mountains as the sun hits the mountain peaks and I don't think I've ever seen such a beautiful sight in my life. I feel like taking the drive to Banff just to experience the peace that goes along with the amazing mountain drive. Real life intervenes and I know that won't be happening for another week till my next tour to Banff.

The politeness of Albertans is truly catchy. People from here are so much more relaxed and at ease than people from other places. They just go with the flow. As I write this I think of my latest trip to the grocery store and remember how one person who was waiting in line let me go ahead of him because I only had a couple of items and he had a carriage full of groceries. That does not happen too often. People are usually too much in a rush to be that kind. In Alberta it is the norm.

The city of Calgary is not your typical city. The hustle and bustle is minimized compared to other city cores such as Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, I actually will drive in downtown Calgary, opposed to the others. If you want to rent a car on your visit to Calgary, I would recommend it. Your drive will be safe and drivers here are courteous and safe.

In my next blog I will discuss the incredible Badlands and Dinosaurs. What better place to experience Dinosaurs than where actual bones have been found!!!
